The Channel Inn is ideally situated near my office and it is perfectly located on the water. It's price is the best in the area and it's quality the highest for the money.

We arrived late, after 10, so the restaurant was closed. With no mircowave or coffee maker in the room, that left no means for our eating/drinking needs. I would suggest a single cup coffee maker and microwave be installed in a common area, perhaps with the ice machine, to allow travellers who come in late an option for preparing brought-in food and late night coffee/tea or hot water.

The staff was very helpful and a lot of fun. Loved the man at the front desk! We got great advice about where to bo and how to get there as well as help getting there when we needed it. The location was perfect as we didn't have a car and could walk to the mall, monuments and downtown very easily. The housekeeping service was prompt.

This was a good place to stay. I wish there was a refrigerator in the room and a microwave. There was also a strong smell in the room. I don't know if it was the cleaner of something else but it was very noticable each time we walked into the room. Cleanliness wise the carpets were old and stained. Old was fine but stained was not.

Within a 15 minute walk to the Mall.

Although the location was good for walking to the Mall it is quite isolated. There is a supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. The rooms were tired and run-down but clean. Breakfast was not included which was dissapointing at that price point. Overall we felt that the value for money was poor.

Loved the location! Right on the Potomac, view of the water and Marina. Right outside the door is the walk along the river with wonderful views, check out the Titanic Statue about a half mile walk to the left, and Phillips Seafood, Washington Castles to the right. The tour and dinner cruise ships are right there as well. Finally, it's only a half mile from the Metro and grocery store.

Has been allowed to feel a bit dingy and run down. Some sparkle needs to be infused.

This is a very clean and central hotel. It is right on the river edge and easy access to Metro (2 blocks away) and easy walk to Independence St. I was very impressed with the accessability of the hotel to everything.

There is however no coffee making facilities in the room but can get food etc in the bistro and restaurant. Prices very reasonable.

Walking distance to Washington's museums and sights.

    Outdated. Would require some renovations.

Great location on the river and within walking distance to the Mall. The free parking was also a good benefit.

The hotel is rather run down and needs upgraded. The beds and pillows were hard.

Room Service. There is a Lady so kind I don't remenber her name but you can review very well we just ordered room service one time.

It was so terrible, I tried to have a extra blanket & a extra pillow the answer was no body can asist you good night, I could not believe that. I work in a hotel in my hotel the Guests have to be firts no matter what.... In adition I tried to make reservation one more night the front desk was not nice at all.

The location, on the waterfront and within walking distance of the National Mall was great! The hotel also offered free parking and free internet to guests, something not often found in D.C.

Many of the staff were very helpful, friendly, and welcoming, however one man at the front desk was quite surly when we arrived. Our keys had to be remade several times during our 3 day stay when they stopped working. Although our room was very clean, we would suggest better attention to detail by the cleaning people....one time we returned to the room to find the door not totally closed and no cleaning personnel in sight (the door required extra effort to close completely). Also we found the feather duster laying on top of our toothbrushes near the sink in the bathroom....not too sanitary!

    Location and parking

Very dated decor, bathroom did have a handheld shower but did not have a way to hang the shower head up - odd.

The Channel Inn is located at the Washington Channel overlooking the Marina, beautyful and quiet, walking distance to the Washington mall, all the Museums and Capitol hill etc. and to the Tidal basin, just great,

The staff was kind enough to hold my small packages till I arrived, thanks so much. Correlating price, location, comfort and service, i'd say their pretty good. Naturally if you want better facilities you need to pay more. But overall , its a good strategic place to stay

Heel of my left foot got an abrasion from the edge of the bed we were on. No refrigerator old tv

Room was very well kept and extremely clean but maybe a bit old fashioned although that did not effect our stay. Staff were helpful enough and location was close to many of the sights in dc and a couple of subway stations. All of this at a very good price compared to other hotels in the area.

The outdoor pool could have been cleaner, and the WiFi didn't work in our room. Also, no fridge or kettle.

the hotel personnel were freindly and helpful. Denis the bartender was exceptionally nice and hospitable. Housekeeper Stephnie was exceptionally helpful and hospitable. The hotel was in just the perfect location for our desires; waterfront for personal pleasure following long tiring enjoyable days walking throughout all the special places of DC

Very reasonably priced and within walking distance of metro, supermarket and tourist sites.. Room large and comfortable. REstaurant very good.
